Thoughts, explanations, and all that shit i had while writing my latest oneshot

Stand up comedians do NOT make good kidnappers - Robin_The_Robiner - Batman - All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

SO first up the name. Where did it come from? God knows. I started this fic like ages ago, wrote Steph's first section, and then promptly forgot about it for three months only to come back and scribble the rest out. I dont remember how i came up with the name, but i still think its hilarious so,,

Who is Cassowary? This universes Robin, duh! Since Damian was the first, i thought he'd go for a more intimidating bird. These birds have really sharp claws, and leave wounds similar to those of a blade. Huh. Who do we know who is really good with a sword? Exactly 😎

Writing Steph was hard because I don't know her very well, so I may have projected onto her a little bit (hence the excessive death jokes 😅). I hope it came across that Steph is a detective, like Bruce, but that she's doesn't lazer-focus on that stuff like him. Thats why she focuses on describing Junior at first, not the room she's in or the fact she's chained up. She knows these things, but she only brings them up when relevant. What good is wallowing over being chained up when you could be making fun of your kidnapper, huh?

I'm a bit worried that i didn't make it obvious enough that there is time between Steph's and Bruce's sections. Thats why when we finish Steph's third bit, she's shitting on Junior for dressing like the Joker, but then in the final bit, she's aware that it's Tim. The parts aren't happening at the same time, or right after the other. I hope that was obvious, but im not sure.

BRUCE'S BIT!!! I saw a post once saying that Bruce separates his personas very hard, and i really liked that. When he's talking about Batman, it's only referred to as Batman. When he's having more emotional thoughts, it's Bruce. And, of course, when he's dealing with Crystal (who i don't know very well so probably wasn't well written MY BAD YALL), he's Brucie. The guilt is in all of them, though. Fun stuff!

A big part of Stephanie and Bruce's relationship in canon is, from what i can tell, tense because of the way he treated her when he first met her. BUT in this fic, it's a bit lessened because Steph chalks his shittyness to the fact that he recently lost a son. Also, i think in canon a big part of why Bruce refused to get close to Steph was because of how she reminded him of Jason, which obviously isn't a problem in this universe. Bruce and Steph are still tense, but this time she has the eldest kid on her side pretty easily, cuz Damian feels guilt over Tim LOL

The death!! It's not overly explained, but I do have Tim's death all planned out and shit. It's a mix of the Joker Junior scene from Batman Beyond : Return of The Joker, and then also a little bit of canon. Instead of Bruce being out of Gotham, like in the film, it's that they have an argument. Similar to Jason and Garzonas situation, in how Bruce is angry at the thought of his partner killing, but more so using the Boomerang arc from canon (Tim wanting to kill his Dad's murderer)

Junior's mental state is wild. I'm not writing him with any particular mental illness, mostly because I'm not at all knowledgeable enough to portray something correctly. Instead I'm basing him off of Joker Junior's intro scene, and also me during some of my darkest moments! It's not Pit Rage (i don't lie how much the fandom pushes that onto Jason, similar to the Tim-Doesn't-Sleep idea in which it wasn't canon but then it got popular and was made so, i think) and instead just a extremely traumatised 17 year old!

The teaparty scene was put in there because I wanted Tim to have a hobby that he could share with his mom (because god knows everyone hates Janet because they mess up her character and only look at fanon) and that also can be used to show his mental state. Hence, collecting figurines, and playing with them! Yippee! Thanks to my pal Leo over on discord for suggesting this hobby!! (it was originally stuffed animals but I thought Batburger toys would work better)

Damian and Duke both were the first kids, instead of Dick and Barbara. Instead of Batgirl, we have Batkid, and then instead of Oracle, we have Signal. Damian is Shrike, because that is the most common hero name I see for him and I couldn't think of another. I may go back and change it to Nightwing, because I like the meaning of the name, but it would come from Superboy (Jon) instead of Superman in this universe, so maybe it comes later on? Not sure. need to think on that!!

Drake Manor was, in canon, only bought after Jack woke up from the coma. But, i decided to take the fandom route in which the Drakes always lived there, simply because timeline wise it works better for me. Also in canon, Jack doesn't need the wheelchair by the end, but for my fic, he's not out of the coma long enough for that. I also added a fun basement which defo doesn't exist in canon, so just turn a blind eye to that!

If you saw the original post, you'd know that Bruce was supposed to find Steph through a series of taunting clues. I changed my mind though, because I'm not good at clues, mysteries, or cases. So, a gift with the address is sort of dissapointing, but who cares?

Steph's feelings about Tim are sort of iffy. A really popular headcanon is that Jason was Tim's robin, and thats not true. I'm pretty sure Tim just,, didn't care about Jason? Idk exactly how he felt, but whatever. Steph doesn't hate Tim, in this fic, she just sort of hates how he was as Cassowary. Bruce is full of guilt and won't say a bad word about him, but has plenty of criticism for Steph, which leads to a sort of resentment. He was Cassowary though, so there is also some adoration in her heart. Basically, she switches how she feels about him depending on the situation.

Jack and Robin. In this universe, Jack doesn't know Tim is a superhero. Tim does still take a break, but it's to spend time with his dad after he awakens, not because he's threatened. Dana also (unfortunately) isn't around in this fic, so Jack has more time to spend with Tim. It's sort of a win-lose situation though. Hints are sprinkled in Steph's bits that tell on Tim's identity. Not many, because I'm really bad at hints and subtlety, but there are a few. Mentions of shock burns (the electrocution duh), Zesti instead of tea (which is Tim's canon favourite drink, not coffee!!), and his wish that Steph stops being a hero.

Tims motivations are a reverse of Jasons canon ones. Jason forgives Bruce for not saving him, but is mad he wasn't avenged. Tim forgives Bruce for not avenging him, but is mad he wasn't saved. Aint that fun? Thats why instead of beating her up, Tim kidnaps Steph for three days to resemble the three weeks he was held captive before he died. Yippee, allegories! Yup, for those who remember, I was working on a fic called Night and Day about Kyo x stepsister reader who was living with him. Originally I had him as a yandere, obsessive person with reader being uninterested in him and the fic being non-con, but I ended up scrapping the whole thing and changing it to be a fluff fic with reader living with kyo, reader having a crush on him, and slowly the two grow closer, with tons and tons of angst and sadness. The original outline for the non-con fic is on my patreon if anyone would like to see the poor thing, it had 8 chapters outlined too haha. what a waste.

It depends on the type of criticism. I appreciate it if its about errors in my writing since i still have some growing to do in that department. But there has been some drama ab the things I write ab that people find...distasteful. If you don't like what I write ab, leave, dont waste my time pretending to be a mutual, I write for me not you. Some of yall have some real mean girl mentalities and need to grow tf up, this isn't fucking highschool. Im glad for thei experience tho bcuz it's taught me how to deal with negative people better. On the more constructive side of things tho, if you see errors like plotholes, devices, or grammar in my fics, please tell me! I miss shit sometimes and appreciate the help to better my work

so i had a long talk w ruby abt ocs and the future of my stories and i have come to a realization that i wish i wouldve had a long time ago lol

i dont...HAVE to make everything into a comic in order to share the story and characters. like. not everything has to be mirrors. i can just Share Shit if i want to.

sometimes i get bummed ppl dont ask me abt my ocs but like..its my fault they dont??? it really is. because i never TALK about them to the point of getting people interested enough to ask about them! why would someone wanna ask about an oc they havent been given any stuff to be interested about???

for a long time i kept all my ocs' stories a secret because i wanted to be spoiler-free in the event i made their stories into comics, which i did plan on doing for a while. but now im realizing i dont have to do that to share their stories. AT THE VERY LEAST i might write a fic about their stories and maybe people will read them. but yknow what??? i dont even have to do THAT much if i dont want to. i can just make text posts and little doodles explaining them.

i know a lot of u are genuinely fans of my comic works, and i love you so so much and appreciate the hell out of you!! so i do want to continue the comics i already have going on. mirrors kind of Has to be a comic bc 1) im balls deep in it already LOL, and 2) it feels like a comic that needs to be made in order for my vision to get across. i want people to Feel what im feeling about mirrors. villain + school will likely finish as a comic bc its pretty easy and not as much effort as mirrors and its a fun story for me too. doppelganger ii...will most likely only be one chapter as a comic. ngl. but i will finish that one chapter i swear to god

so yeah. i think im coming to terms with not having to make my stories into comics for people to enjoy/engage with them. i hope you all can support this! ;v; hopefully in the future i'll entice you with more info about my characters to the point of where u wanna ask abt them ^^

basically my stories like alien love, step, when death smiled, new light, pretty accident, and even the new ones like one way dream, legend, and blessed...will probably not be comics after all. BUT THATS OK, i can still draw for them!!! i can make fake comic covers. i can make scene illustrations and animation memes. i can still make fun stuff !!! and yall can finally engage with them!!!!

I think I figured it out. I only came across or had this realization of all things to reading a Pornstar! Chan x reader? Idk where it is or I'd tag the person who wrote it to thank them. But they wrote a scene where the girl was not just like giving that chan head...it was the description of him. Of the feelings associated with what they were doing.

To look at someone in their wholeness, to see it all, from the us that walks out of the house to do errands and work, to the innermost self that is scared, and vulnerable and was there at the beginning of the lies we tell ourselves. Was there at the beginning of when the outside world built us the walls and cages we trip over now. That scared small person still lives in there somewhere and in situations like sex and intimacy it bubbles up as far down as we shove it. It lives in the eyes of the 'are you sure' and 'Is this okay'. As if to love is to not jump in and save them, but to acclimate and swim over and ask if they want company.

That is why I think Stray Kids, not only works, but thrives, for they want to exist in the paradox that is innerpersonal self, and exterior self. Thats why I love Chan so much? I think? I think in the interest of survival there was built a stronghold that had only a few doors. Or at least I don't think he knows where those doors are anymore? But to the outside person its obvious. Like in Labyrinth where Sara says there is no door its just a wall, but she walks forward to see there is a opening to get to the goblin city. We as people are so microscope lens, inner person, get through the day, we often forget just how magnificent the other side of the coin can be, as if its not the same coin, forget how life and things can be.

I have walked through hallowed ground, heard bells in cathedrals, stormed castles, felt on my hands and knees stones that have been road cobble since before plato, there is ocean trenches of inner personal brouhaha that one person alone has. Just a normal person. Even the boring people have this.

So to even have the smallest .00000000000000001% of that wide galaxy that is Christopher Bang. I am grateful. He is soft and comfort like sleep overs, like hot coffee in the morning, like fuzzy socks, like jokes you only know about that make you laugh.

But I don't think there is a thing on this planet that could sway me from the desire to reach inside that boys mind and pick out the worms and decay that has grown in there. For I look at him and I see the darkness there. I think you'd be blind not to notice, but I also see the light. I see how he has balanced the scales. Even in that smallest percentage its like trying to measure the sun by its reflection on the moon. Or counting the stars before knowing they rotate based on the position of the earth.

Stray kids the members themselves are the most human people I have seen in their position. There is gloss and sheen and hiding the dark icky things away, but you cannot hide behind stage lights the deepness one has inside. And so I like the fic, would be so enamored and transfixed to devote lifetimes to see the wholeness of those men. The true wholeness of one's entirety.

I have a few things that I consider my "favourite" things ive written. Like theres fics that have a special place in my heart for reasons and theres some that I just think are fucking well written in a great way in a writing style that is just me, and thats pretty fucking great like not to brag or anything but all my years of writing I think right this moment is the best ive ever written. I love the art that im sending and showing to yall guys!

NGL theres a lot cuz im getting better at like, being proud of myself nowadays

We made our peace with weariness and let it be. I wrote this on a train going to see Bonnie and Clyde in the theatre. I like how I write kenny here- how I focus on the more unsure, shy almost unwilling participant in everything his body and brain says.

An open hand [for your other man] Again a fic that means a lot to me personally for just how its written. Again I focused on more on the fact that Kenny Omega will do anything for the people that he loves, even if that comes at the expense of said people he loves and himself.

I'll tell you my sins and [you can sharpen your knife] The first of what I think is three fics starring my OC Jay. The most recent fic ive written. It focuses a lot on Jay and Cole relatioonship and the terrifying idea of being known and Cole learning to forgive himself fopr his sins back in NXT. Both Jay and Cole learn that betrayal doesnt always mean the end of everything.

The ghost story would be over Another Jay fic that focuses more on his friendship/brotherhood with the BCC and eventually how she joins the Elite. I dont know why this means a special place in my heart and I swear I know where this fic is going despite my utter lack of updates with it

I find myself alone at night [Unless I'm having sex] Yknow how I constantly talk about Kenny being too scared to love and therefore having to constantly leave Hangman and Hangman constantly expecting to wake up alone. Yeah, thats this entire fic and I know it was meant to be like, a happy fluffy fic but its one of personally, the saddest fics Ive written because at least while writing it, you feel hangmans utter sense of lost and longing consume him by the end.

To you I'm just a man [to me you're all I am] My first ever aew fic. Written when I couldnt tell the Bucks apart and i was producing content daily. It means a lot to me because i think that ive gotten better as a writer but theres some scenes that I think are ngl movie quality; like the flashback would be all sad and hazy and I think the fic feels the same as listening to piano man by billy joell

Would you love me more [If I killed someone for you?] Adam Cole gets murdered the fic. I think this is the fic that has the most fanart potential of mine. Like theres some great imagery that would like, explode so much fanart or other content.

Getting you off is my new favourite hobby The last of the Jay fics on this list, and my first time writing smut. Theres something about this fic that feels so deeply emotional and soft despite being about sex in hangers kitchen. I think its the underlying acceptance adam shows to jay and the utter love that he has for zem before and during and after sex.

Blood is as rare and as sweet as cherry wine 4 thousand words of hangman being so deeply in love with kenny omega it hurts him. Kenny is deep in his cleaner persona [or in my world, cleaner is fronting and kenny is trapped, watching him ruin everyone kenny loves] and this fic, reading it again makes me wanna throw kenny omega into a wall and just let hangman beat the fuck outta him and then fu- *gets shot by TK*

i went to watch the Solmance vallaslin scenes and all their outcomes. I initially thought Dirthadin would be not only Okay with the fact theyre slavery marks, be intrigued by that historical discovery, but maybe fall into cult mentality and dive harder into it as a worshiper of Dirthamen and Falon'din, BUT in my draft he was faced with the (HC) reality that Falon'din *and* Dirthamen may have killed Mythal, and as worshiper and devotee of both, of which he changed his *name* to embody them both, he feels like he has had a hand in Mythal's continued murder, and is disgusted by the idea he bears their marks while having drank from the Well, convincing Abelas and his dying people to let him as though Falon'din encroached Mythal's territory again like before.

And immediately after, Solas adds insult to injury by telling Dirthadin theyre slave markings and offers to remove them.

He needs time and consults Abelas, who (in the fic) knew they were "slave" markings and is a melancholic, tragic figure of devotion for Mythal as are the other Sentinels. eventually Dirthadin decides to remove the Vallaslin, and asks Abelas to give him a new one symbolic of Mythal (much to Solas' displeasure). I'll play Trespasser eventually to see what else I can juice out of the plot pre and post Solas leaving, and I think Dirthadin might eventually rename himself again.

Also yes! When we first started watching the show, he did think that Gale looked a little bit like Ashton and it was the funniest thing ever to me. He did only talk about it in the pilot though. Btw I am so tempted to later on give him Gale’s out of the box interview to watch. He was asking me yesterday about the actors and if they still act and where are they and I didn’t answer because well, one of them abandoned his podcast so i don’t know what he’s up to and the other one we dont even know if he’s still alive since theres been no new photos. I do wonder how he will react when he finds out Gale is straight though because he mentioned to my neighbor and i did get the feeling that he thinks everyone is gay. So i am tempted to ask him questions about what all he thinks of the cast since his only introduction to them is the show.

And yes! He has been going on and on about Brian’s growth and how he’s changed since he clocked it around 4th episode. He is so happy that he’s growing and allowing himself to be happy and in love even if he doesn’t want to admit it, that i just know the second 5x01 will start, he will have a mental breakdown and it will be very valid of him.

Your celebrities/therapist story actually made me curious now because how can a famous celeb that is known everywhere, even get a therapist then omg. I had no clue this was kind of a thing. And yes! My brother would absolutely launch into it, he’d have pictures and everything ready for it. I mean his confidence when it comes to talking to everyone and anyone about anything in his life (usually interests and shit he’s done thats funny to him or in this case the show) is impressive as fuck but also for an innocent bystander like me? actually a nightmare to be around that. He truly doesn’t give a single fuck! He just tells anyone who will listen (not in a trauma dumping type of way but his interests and such? No shame) When he was in high school he made an entire poster presentation for his class to talk about his love for the movie School of Rock and HE DID IT BY SINGING A FAKE ROCK N ROLL SONG (id give anything to remember the lyrics). Mind you, the presentations was supposed to be about current events in the world and School of Rock came out like a year or two prior so it had no relation to the exercise and yet that didn’t stop him. So you best believe he would do the exact same for Gale or more importantly QAF/Brian. And as someone who does shy away from talking about qaf just because it is a lot, it is insane watching him talk about the show because he truly gives zero fucks. When we started watching the show, he was fully explaining to the nurses/doctors/anyone that would listen about how the show is AND HOW BRITIN MET! He TALKED ABOUT THE RIM JOB! I NEVER EVEN FUCKING TOLD YALL THAT! IMAGINE MY SHOCK WHEN HE RANDOMLY BROUGHT UP THE SHOW FOR THE FIRST TIME TO SOMEONE RANDOM! AND HE DECIDED TO DO IT BY BRINGING UP THE SEX SCENE!
